Why Bing's Audience Matters Bing's audience can differ from Google's, with a stronger presence among Microsoft ecosystem users, workplace and corporate users, desktop users and some older demographics. This means the people finding your business through Bing may not be exactly the same audience finding you through Google. That is why businesses should track Bing traffic separately and consider investing in Bing SEO too. If your target audience uses Microsoft's ecosystem, ignoring Bing could mean missing a valuable source of traffic, visibility and potential customers. Why Bing Matters in the Age of AI Bing is becoming increasingly relevant in the age of AI because it is closely connected to Microsoft's AI ecosystem, including Copilot. As more people use AI-powered tools to search for information and get answers, visibility across the wider Microsoft ecosystem can matter alongside traditional Google rankings. For businesses, this means Bing should not be ignored when thinking about SEO, AI search and overall online visibility.. What Do Citations and Cited Pages Mean in Bing AI Performance? In Bing Webmaster Tools' AI Performance section, citations show how many times your website has been used as a source in Bing's AI-generated experiences during the selected period. While checking the AI Performance section in Bing Webmaster Tools for Simply Sansu, I noticed 5 citations and 1 cited page. This means Bing's AI experiences cited my website five times during the selected period, with those citations coming from one page on my website. It was an interesting insight because it showed me that some of my content is already being picked up as a source in AI-generated experiences—and it also gives me an idea of what type of content I can create more of. Who Uses Bing? Bing is used by different types of users, including: Microsoft Edge users Windows users Copilot users People who prefer Bing as their primary search engine Workplace and corporate users within the Microsoft ecosystem Desktop-heavy users Older audiences This makes Bing traffic worth tracking separately, as it may represent a different audience from your Google traffic. Take Control of Your SEO Game with Faster Indexing SEO is not just about creating content. It is also about making sure search engines can discover and index it. Real-time or faster indexing can help notify participating search engines when new content is published or existing pages are updated. The faster search engines know about your changes, the sooner your updated content can be discovered and considered for indexing. Don't Ignore Bing Google may still be the first search engine most businesses think about. But my experience checking Simply Sansu's Bing traffic and AI Performance reminded me that visibility should not be measured through Google alone. Bing gives businesses another audience, another source of organic traffic and now another way to understand how their content is appearing in AI-powered experiences. Track it. Check what is working. Find the gaps. And don't leave potential visibility unexplored.
